We received our Chinese O-levels results today...I GOT A1! *jumps around in joy* Haha. I didn't expect it at all, in fact I was hoping for a B3. But look how it turned out. *jumps around some more* Yippee!
The moment I reached home, I saw my mother sitting on the sofa, waiting for me. She said that she specially came home early to comfort me. And when I told her my grade, she thought I was joking. That shows how much faith she has in me. Haha.

After the National Day celebrations, Dan er, Ming fong and I went to watch The Village. It wasn't as scary as I expected, I only screamed twice. The romantic and philosophical plot was rather good, but I don't like the ending. Dan er and I agreed that at the very end, they should flash an image of a real monster in the woods, just to show that they exist. That will make The Village more like what it's advertised as- a horror movie.

Watched Confessions of an Ugly Stepsister. It was fantastic. A refreshing twist from the normal Cinderella story. It reminds me of Girl with a Pearl Earring, somehow. Maybe it's the dresses, or the artists in both movies. Anyway, I liked it a lot - going to watch it again. I watched Ella Enchanted too, it's just average. I might get the soundtrack, though. The songs are nice.

All else had lost its appeal, the dancing, the singing, the marching, they were just the usual, they did not interest me. Only the fireworks remained constant. Year after year, it never failed to delight all those watching. I re-lived the magic of hearing the entire stadium erupt into screams of joy as the colours exploded in the inky night sky. A wave of euphoria rushed through me, and I felt exactly as I did ten years ago, when I was watching the Parade as a little girl.
